Literature Text

Slithering down the gaps,
Rainwater pour.
The dusty ground it maps,
Washing away the remains of war.

The booming of sound rung in air,
In bewilderment, we stare.
Crash! Down and down!
Down came the Goddess of Green of a thousand pounds!

Lights of fire paced about,
Screams of terror filled aloud.
Crunching and cackling of leaves,
The soul of green, where,
Last it breathes.

The forts of wood linger,
Ran along its tenants of critters.
In came along the monsters with whirling jaws,
Leaving behind the new prints they tore.

Raging waves bellow,
Dark skies roared.
Stares, the great beast, soaked.
Just like it has all been a sick joke.

Abruptly, the story ended.
To shed light, it was foul.
Perhaps it was planned.
But now only left we are,
The echo of the non-existent prowl.
Back? Lol. I-Is-Busy-With-College-Not-Happy.

Okay, strange as it seems, I somehow felt like a beaver when I wrote this XD

Well, basically it's about man (YES, US) tearing down nature as usual. Not just by cutting through but also using explosives for "hazard trees" which could harm the sawyers. But using explosives could very well harm nature as well. Especially the animals.

The forts of wood linger is basically their (beavers) home.

The whirling jaws is (obviously) the chainsaws they use to fell trees.

Goddess of Green is my definition of the beautiful trees. Trees are lovely. Don't kill them >(

If there's anything else you don't understand then...just ask ^0^

I hope this enlightens you? -insert smart goodwill intention here-

I think your title adds a great deal of feeling, since we immediately start to read from the beaver's perspective. And the point could've gotten across from any view, but 'seeing' the destruction as a furry woodland/river creature adds a lot of emotion to it all.

I love your imagery, as usual. :) I think my favorite is...the entire third stanza. (I also love how the beginning is about the desolation at the end and then you backtrack. Brilliant.)

Nice to know college hasn't killed you! :D
